Here is beyoncé in coldplay's new "hymn for the weekend" video, is being criticised for misusing indian culture. Coldplay may have shot the video of their song “hymn for the weekend” in india with an intention to celebrate. Coldplay's "hymn for the weekend" featuring sonam kapoor and beyonce has sparked a debate on social media, with some calling it a "stereotypical" portrayal of the country.

Hymn for the Weekend" is a song by British rock band Coldplay featuring American singerBeyoncé. It was released on 25 January 2016 as the second single from their seventh studio album,A Head Full of Dreams (2015), where it appears as the third track. A Head Full Of Dreams (out now). The four minute-20-second video focuses on everything Indian be it a ride in the famous black-and-yellow taxi of Mumbai to life on the streets to saints and temples. Download the song from here.

The single from the British band's latest album "A Head Full of Dreams" was directed by Ben Mor and takes the band on a trip to Mumbai, India where the members roam the streets seeing spiritual shamans, dancing street kids and people playing Holi, a Hindu festival of colours. And of course, Beyonce who appeared in clips as a Bollywood star donning henna and a bejeweled sari.

In the 24 hours since its release, viewers have been torn on whether to call this new piece cultural appropriation, meaning the group was trying to profit from a culture that isn't their own, or appreciation.
